Authorities in Australia claimed that a woman had to fight a deadly tiger snake in her car while she was driving at 80km per hour in a freeway outside Melbourne.

Victoria Police said that the police officers received information about a woman , whose feet were uncovered, who attempted to draw attention of drivers, using a road shoulder of Monash Freeway on the Saturday.

The woman said that she had been driving at a speed of 80 kilometers per hour (50 miles per hour) when she felt something on her foot and, trying to find out what it was, saw a tiger snake – one of the most venomous snakes in the world – climbing up her leg.

“And, rather unbelievably, she managed to scare the snake away from her and navigate her car through traffic before she had to stop and get out of the car and escape from the snake,” said police, who then added that she was taken to the scene by paramedics to check whether she had been bitten by the snake.

Australia is known for its dangerous creatures such as many kinds of sharks, snakes and two of the most dangerous spiders in the world. Earlier in the month of October, a solo hiker was discovered alive after being missing for almost two weeks in Australia Snowy Mountains after a snake bite.

Tim Nanninga from Melbourne Snake Control, who was called to remove the snake, agreed with this, but noted the woman in Melbourne was very lucky indeed. “It’s a miracle how she got off the road and safely parked the car,” he said in an interview with the CNN affiliate 9News.

“Usually when snakes are in cars they get a really nice little corner and they can stay in for days and days without coming out, but in this case we were lucky the snake moved further back into the car”, he added.

They mention that Australian television channel 9News stated the recent tropical like weather has seen snakes moving from creeks and riverbanks.
