The children of Diddy and Kim Porter have weighed in on the rumors concerning their parents’ relationship and the ‘shooting conspiracy theories’ regarding the death of Kim Porter in 2018.

Christian Combs, Jessie and D’Lila Combs, and Quincy Brown – the sons of Kim Porter, who Diddy adopted – wrote a letter on Tuesday (Sept. 24) as they try to stop the gossip and lies about their mother in the wake of Diddy’s federal indictment in early September.

“There have been so many slanderous and libelous stories regarding our parents, Kim Porter and Sean Combs’ relationship, and about our mom’s untimely passing that it is about time that we set the record straight,” they added.

The children also slammed the 60-page Kim’s Lost Words: A Journey for Justice From the Other Side…, a memoir that Porter has claimed to have written and which became a bestseller on Amazon.

Combs’ attorney Erica Wolf termed the memoir ‘fake’ and ‘offensive – a shameless attempt to profit from tragedy’ to Billboard on Tuesday.

“It is important for the public to know that the allegations that our mom wrote a book are baseless and false,” Combs and Porter’s children said in the statement. She did not, and anyone that says they have a manuscript is an impostor. Further, please do realize that anyone that can come out and speak on behalf of our mom or her family is not a friend to her, and does not have her best interest in their hearts.

The statement went on: As much as we were devastated when we lost our mother we were left with broken lives. She was everything to us, and since the day she died, everything in my life changed. For as much as it has been nearly impossible to come to terms with how she could be taken from us too soon, the circumstances of her passing have been known for a while now. There was no foul play. To the public we say this, ‘Grief is a lifelong process, and we ask that everyone respect our request for peace as we continue to cope with her loss every day.”

Porter died on November 15, 2018, and her death was due to lobar pneumonia. She was 47.

“This is why we are heartbroken that the world has turned what has been the darkest moment in our lives into a circus,” the statement said. It is for this reason that our mother should be remembered for the beautiful, strong kind and loving woman that she was. Her memory should not be tainted by horrific conspiracy theories.”

The four kids collectively “plead that everyone, please respect their mother, Kim Porter, and cherish her memory to ensure she gets to rest in peace.” They concluded: “It’s what she deserves. We miss you so much and love you mommy. Quincy, Christian, Jessie and D’Lila.

Kim Porter was a former wife of musician, Porter’s ex Al B. Sure! — who is the father of their son Quincy Brown — earlier this week on his Instagram account called for an investigation into his ex-wife’s death.

“For over a decade and a half, I’ve been posting about, and tagging random law enforcement agencies in hopes to protect loved ones, avoid deaths & tragedies that could have all been avoided,” wrote Sure.

He claimed: “Ms. Porter’s missing devices, which are reportedly had been produced, without any doubt contain the crucial evidence that have been suppressed. Based on my findings, I believe that evidence supports complements details that the recently released public indictment document contain.

Puff Daddy was arrested on September 17, 2020, in New York City for federal sex trafficking and racketeering. He has since been denied bond twice and will remain in prison until he is taken to trial.

“For decades, Sean Combs … abused, threatened and coerced women and others around him to fulfill his sexual desires, protect his reputation and conceal his conduct,” the indictment — which was obtained by Billboard — reads. “To do so, Combs was able to count on the employees, resources and the power that stemmed from the diverse business empire he headed and owned.”

If convicted, Diddy could be facing a minimum of 15 years and up to life in prison.

After his arrest, Diddy’s attorney, Marc Agnifilo, expressed disappointment over what he called an “unjust prosecution.” Agnifilo stated, “Diddy is not a perfect person, but he is not a criminal. He has been fully cooperative throughout this investigation and even voluntarily moved to New York last week, knowing the charges were coming. We ask that people withhold judgment until all the facts are revealed. His actions are those of an innocent man with nothing to hide, and he’s eager to clear his name in court.”
