Jammu: In the first case of its kind, the Kashmir Police are resorting to audio appeals from drones for people to stay indoors. Whereas in Jammu, there is an atmosphere of panic over increasing the number of quarantine centers amid an increasing number of suspects. This panic is also due to Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary ( District Deputy Commissioner of Srinagar), denoting it as the Third World War. Currently, the lockdown was going on all over Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
In view of the increasing number of suspects in Jammu, the number of quarantine centers has been increased to 12. They have the capacity to hold 1255 people. The administration had previously built three quarantine centers. These included the Yatri Niwas located in Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu, the guest house of NHPC and the Teacher’s Building. At the same time, there are now Redrose Hotel Narwal, Sainik School Nagrota, Impa Nagrota, Scat Campus RS Pura, Youth Hostel Nagrota, IIT Hostel Paloda, Revenue Institute Gol Gujral and Excise and Taxation Institute Nagrota.
No new patient of coronavirus has arrived in Jammu and Kashmir for a few days, but the number of its suspects is increasing continuously. Even today, 327 suspects were kept under surveillance. In all, so far, 3938 people have been under the supervision of the Department of Health and Medical Education. In view of the number of suspects, many more quarantine centers have been built.
District Deputy Commissioner of Srinagar, Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary tweeted that instead of being intimidated, everyone should cooperate to control the situation. They have described it as the Third World War. He used to say that after it passes, everyone will get a life.
