Corona Effect, Samsung, Oppo, Vivo shutting down plants in India

New Delhi: Almost every sector is facing a huge crisis all around the world due to Coronavirus. Lockdown has been announced in many states including Delhi in India. Samsung’s largest manufacturing plant is in Noida and millions of smartphones are made here every year.
The smartphone industry is also affected due to the Coronavirus. South Korean tech company Samsung is shutting down its largest plant in Noida for a few days.
Significantly, 120 million smartphones are made in this plant of Samsung every year. The company has currently closed it from 23 March to 25 March and the company has sent its employees to Work from Home.

Apart from Samsung, Oppo, Vivo, and LG also have plants in India, which the companies are closed for some time. The Uttar Pradesh government has also announced a lockdown and commercial activities will also be closed during this period.
Since most of the companies have plants in Noida and Greater Noida in Uttar Pradesh, work will be affected there too. At present, these companies have shut down till March 25, but given the situation, the company can extend it further.
Talking about the effect of coronavirus on the mobile industry, for the first time in history, worldwide smartphone sales have fallen by up to 38%. Not only this, but GST has also been increased on mobiles in India.
